‘œIï–¿–½m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did,’ the statement continues.

‘œI’™m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’™s Parkinson’™s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq,’ rails Kerry, in the statement. ‘œIt disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.’

‘œThese Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor,’ the statement continues. ‘œBottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they’™re afraid to debate real men. And this time it wonï–¿–½t work because we’™re going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions.’

He concluded his statement, ‘œNo Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.’

Jim Gibbons, Candidate for Nevada Governor — Sex Offender?

In fairness, Mr. Gibbons has not entered into alcoholic rehab as yet, has not admitted to being a homosexual, nor has he accused a Catholic Priest of molesting him when he was younger.

There’™s still time for such developments.

And you know it’™s all gonna be aimed at attacking women because you can’™t have guys, y’™know, spilling their seed. i don’™t think they’™re gonna be funding programs urging anyone to jerk off, do you? But i sure wish they would just FUCK OFF ALREADY!!!

And I would be remiss if I didn’™t credit the commenter on Think Progress for alerting me to this post on his blog. So you can link to him if you don’™t want the full USA Today article linked above.

The speculation about what Fat Karl knows about the coming election runs from ‘œthe fix is in’ to ‘œit’™s all a bluff‘, but let’™s look at a few things that Fat Karl does know:

Fat Karl knows that there hasn’™t been a full or even a partial audit done of any state or federal election in decades, and if the public were to look at the public records of the past several elections, the numbers of people voting and the number of cast ballots would not add up. I’™m not talking about a recount here folks, I’™m talking about a simple audit.

Fat Karl knows that over 80% of American votes are COUNTED by electronic means, and that the companies that make those machines are also part of the machine ‘œcertification process’. Additionally, Karl knows that ‘œwhat happens in the machines, stays in the machines’, since the manufacturers won’™t release the source code for inspection by anyone, even for the certification process.

Fat Karl knows that the AP’™s process for collecting and reporting election totals is also a ‘œsecret’ that the AP won’™t disclose for oversight purposes.

Fat Karl knows that the consortium of ‘œnews’ outlets, formerly known as the NES (News Election Service) most recently known as VNS (Voter News Service) and it’™s offspring NEP (National Election Pool) also dispersed election results, projections, and exit poll information utilizing secret methods.

Fat Karl is pretty confident that in a few key states the Republicans will once again ‘œprevail’ over the will of the people because of the fail-safe procedures that are in place. (see Ohio)

Fat Karl knows that once an election is declared, all it takes is a loud, shrill wail to alert the GOP faithful to circle the wagons, beat their chests triumphally and denounce anyone who would dare question the veracity of the result.

Fat Karl knows that within days of the declaration of a winner, that the news media will reinforce the result with countless stories of how the win was a result of some dirty trick played right, and never once looking at what happened with the vote count or exit polls, until it is accepted as fact by the public at large. (See Max Clelland)

Additionally Fat Karl knows, that if the above electoral ‘œsafe guards’ don’™t work out this time that Bush has been extremely aggressive in implementing safe guards of his own.

Some new polling, some old polling. All good news on the four top PA Congressional races, all of which will be Democratic steals were our candidates to win.

Oct. 30, Constituent Dynamics polling:

Patrick Murphy 50, Mike Fitzpatrick 47. I’™ve been on the edge of my seat here as Patrick looks very young. He’™s knowledgeable, a veteran, but still, he looks young. Of course, we’™re all proud of how well he’™s run his candidacy. ‘œLooking young’ is not a criticism, after all, but just what may turn out to be an irrational fear.

Lois Murphy 51, Jim Gerlach 46. I’™ve always considered this race dead even, considering the result last time, when Lois did very well. In fact, I think it amazing that Lois has allowed this race to be so close.

Oct. 8th-10th:

Joe Sestak 51, Curt Weldon 44. Great news, and this poll came out before all the shit hit the fan concerning Weldon being investigated by the FBI. Does it point to a possible landslide by Sestak? I’™ll count the yard signs on my drive through that area tomorrow and give my informal poll results. . .

Aug. 27th-29th:

Chris Carney 50, Don Sherwood 43. They don’™t poll that often in the less populated areas of PA, so this is an old poll. It scares me not to have more recent data, frankly. Could Bush’™s standing with the adulterer and abuser Sherwood have helped among the district’™s heavily Republican voters?

Can’™t wait until next week to find out. Constituent Dynamics, by the way, is a pretty fun site. Check out this map of the top 54 House races. Cool!

Talking Points Memo reported last night on a very interesting robo ‘œpush poll’ being conducted in Maryland. A TPM reader checks in with:

Later in the evening, the story was fleshed out a little bit. Is there no depth to the sleaze the GOP will sink?

U2 and Greenday on Katrina

For your mid-afternoon viewing pleasure, this vid is (in my opinion) just a wee bit over the top and self-aggrandizing, but it’™s a good visual reminder of the incompetence that the Bush regime has rained down on America (no pun intended).
