John Edwards will be announcing his campaign for the 2008 Democratic Party presidential nomination today in New Orleans 9th Ward. In advance of the announcement, he was working with a group of middle school students yesterday in the 9th ward at the home of Orelia Tyler, whose home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
I’ve been a supporter of Senator Edwards since well before the 2004 Iowa caucus - and I’ll be firmly in his camp for the 2008 primaries. I know, I know - we’re just getting into 2007. But, presidential politics being what they are today, it takes an early, strong, grassroots organization to make a credible run and raise the necessary cash. The organization is now in place.
