Gingrich Claims Honesty. . . But. . .

Newt admits that during the Clinton impeachment arguments during the 90’s, he was having an affair. It took him ten years to admit it, and he did so before James Dobson (Focus on the Family link not safe for sane people), so I’m sure he got his absolution. But, but, but. . . Newt sees no hypocrisy here.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich acknowledged he was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he acknowledged in an interview with a conservative Christian group.
“The honest answer is yes,” Gingrich, a potential 2008 Republican presidential candidate, said in an interview with Focus on the Family founder James Dobson to be aired Friday, according to a transcript provided to The Associated Press. “There are times that I have fallen short of my own standards. There’s certainly times when I’ve fallen short of God’s standards.”
Gingrich argued in the interview, however, that he should not be viewed as a hypocrite for pursuing Clinton’s infidelity.
What a moral midget he is to not see that his behavior, reprehensible as it was, was not also hypocritical as he led the battle in the House against the President’s infidelity. And Dobson’s swallowing Newt’s line whole just shows us the face of the moral shallowness of the Radical Right Wing Christian Clerics.
Of course, moments after whining about liberals who “despise this country and its freedoms,” Dobson himself says his organization is not political at all. Clearly either he is not familiar with the term “political,” or he’s a complete liar. Gosh, that one isn’t hard to figure out.
