Okay, before you jump on me for using the word “fag”, let me just briefly note that I am in love with Joe.My.God. One read and I was wishing I was a gay man.
Joe is the one who let us know about wingnut poster boy Matt Sanchez’s past as a gay porn star in his hilarious post, Jeff Gannon Redux. I know this is not the most important story of the day, but it sure is one of the most amusing, especially as Joe tells it.
And to round out the festivities, yesterday Salon published a piece by Sanchez which is one of the most twisted pieces of illogic I’ve ever seen, even for an ex-gay porn star who says he’s not gay. I mean, he drank so much of the kool-aid he actually thinks the wingers love him.
But it really is an interesting case study. Here you have a guy who thinks that being married or engaged (twice!) makes him “not gay.” Uh yeah, same as being a priest. And I bet there was no room in the straight porn industry for such a studly well hung specimen as himself, and he was forced to turn to gay porn (and escorting, which he doesn’t deny) because that was the only way he could make a living. (At least he was adhering to those free market principles.) All the while, he describes the industry as a cult, and blames the people he worked with for his inability to “shake off the stupor of being high.” So here’s a guy who is not gay, but got so high on the gay sex industry that he had trouble getting out? Puh-leeze.
But the real adventure in wingnuttia begins when he starts talking about progressives attacking him for not towing the liberal line. What is it about these maroons that makes them totally incapable of understanding the concept of hypocricy? And does he really think the CPAC crowd would be singing his praises if he was up there saying “I’m queer and I’m proud” instead of denouncing his past? He feels persecuted, poor darling, by the people who unearthed his hypocrisy, even as they flat out support his right to be whoever he is. And I think he is comparing progressives to the porn industry, but it gets a little hard to follow there. I wonder what he studies at Columbia, and how he managed to get in there.
Anyway, go read it yourself - it really is a scream. But don’t drink while reading, you might ruin your keyboard (you could save that for jacking off to something from his extensive catalog NSFW!!!, which I must say is quite prolific for what he called a summer job).

While I highlt doubt it given the “extensive catalog”, Sanchez may have been “gay-for-pay” like Peter North. Most men don’t make that much in straight porn: there’s more money in gay porn.

Liz awarded him the “Darwin Award” for this week. Personally, I’ve been kinda of the mind lately that perhaps there’s hope for the survival of the human species, especially after the Libby verdict, but, now I’m not so sure.
WHAT is WITH all these confessions and outtings and hurling of accusations about sexuality lately? Makes me wonder if we’re seeing THESE things, what AIN’T we seeing and hearing about? Something REALLY gruesome?
Saying that a “straight” guy will have sex with another man on camera because it supposedly pays better is like saying a “straight” guy will work in a gay bar because the tips are supposedly better. Yeah…sure. How gullbile some people can be.
I think somegirl got it right about Sanchez. Almost forty years since Stonewall and there are homosexual men who still need to be “straight” — despite all evidence to the contrary — because it makes them feel more “macho.” Why do some gay people buy into this nonsense? As I’ve often said, people rarely lie about being gay, but they lie about being straight all the time.
Wow, there’s nothing like liberal hatred to invigorate a conservative. It never ceases to amaze me how malicious, mean-spirited and downright childish the tantrum throwing “progressives” are.
