A few days ago, I wrote an article titled, “The Politics of Humanity“, which touched on the response of Right Wingnuttia to Elizabeth Edwards’ cancer. In the article, I said that I was impressed with Bush regime press secretary Tony Snow’s grace in addressing the issue - and the grace was well placed, as Snow is a cancer survivor himself.
This morning, word comes that Snow’s cancer has returned, and spread to his liver. No one can predict the ultimate prognosis, but this is certainly not good news for Snow and his family, as liver cancer is one of the more aggressive forms of the disease.
There are some things that rise above politics. This is (obviously) one of them. We’ll even avoid, for the moment, writing something snarky about Rush Limbaugh.
Our thoughts and best wishes are with the Snows today.

I’ll second that emotion, Richard. Liver cancer is definitely not a fate one would wish on anyone. I hope Mr. Snow is able to devote himself during his treatment to what matter to him most in life.
As much as I have had a certain loathing for Mr. Snow, I am sorry to hear that news about his cancer having spread to his liver. My father died from liver cancer, and it is not a pleasant way to go. Here’s hoping that it is not as bad as it sounds.
