This sounds like a Big Time Wrestling match! King Abdullah, wearing his white robes and dyed black goatee, and George Bush in his suit with baby blue tie! Bring it ON!

Abdullah announced today that Bush’™s actions in Iraq were ILLEGAL!

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia told Arab leaders on Wednesday that the American occupation of Iraq is ‘œillegal,’ and he warned that unless Arab governments settle their differences, foreign powers like the United States would continue to dictate the region’™s politics.

The king’™s speech, at the opening of the Arab League summit meeting here, underscored growing differences between Saudi Arabia and the Bush administration as the Saudis take on a greater regional leadership role, partly at American urging. The Saudis seem to be emphasizing that they will not be beholden to the policies of their longtime ally.

Remember, he’™s a supposed ally. With allies like that, Bush might want to start talking to Nancy Pelosi.

Edit 4:30 am: It seems that King Abdullah has also canceled out on a state dinner Bush was hosting for him. It was to have been held two weeks from now. Read about it in Jim Hoagland’™s column.
