I’ve said it a hundred times - if the war is defunded, the troops have to come home. Plain and simple. If there is no money, there is no continuation of the occupation. By defunding the Bush regime’s war machine, congress mandates the orderly withdrawal of U.S. forces.
Why is that so hard for everyone to understand? (And now you know one of the main reasons why I’m not behind an Obama candidacy.)

Are you certain that this is true? I could see Bush just leaving them there and refusing to stand down the mission — forcing a Constitutional crisis and putting everyone over there in danger at the same time.
Its not like the man needs to get re-elected. And its not like his approval rating can go much lower - we’ve moved into crazification land at this point.
That said, Obama’s inexperience is showing. He just shoved his foot so far into his mouth I think it may be coming out the other side…
