US Attorney “Hadn’t Distinguished Himself”

That’s the reason Kyle Sampson gave for the firing of US Attorney Bud Cummings. I’m sure I’ve seen that phrase used to describe the firings of others of those US Attorneys.

Seems like a good reason to fire Alberto Gonzales. He’s done far worse than not distinguishing himself. He’s wrecked the reputation of the DoJ by allowing the US Attorneys to be politicized, certainly, gutted the Civil Rights Division, and ruined the reputation of the US with his justifications for torture. Not one part of Gonzales’ record can be considered “distinguished.” Let’s judge him by the standard he judges US Attorneys, shall we?
After that let’s judge everyone else int he Bush White House by the same standard. It’s called reality.




Oh, to the contrary, I think Alberto Gonzales has distinguished himself!
I wonder if these justifications for removing existing USAs will be used to remove the replacements?
