Who are the 28%’ers?
28 percent. Down 4 percent since the last Harris Interactive poll. Yes, those are McFlightsuit’s latest approval numbers - historic lows even by his standards.

So what I want to know is: who are these 28%-ers that still support him? Bush claims that Americans are with him on Iraq, and somehow, in his twisted logic, believes that the mid-term elections were a mandate for escalation in Iraq, not getting out of the quagmire.
Someone needs to educate me, because I just don’t get it. But then, maybe I’m not supposed to.

this is a fucking press conference?
the 28%ers, the “loyal bushies”, are the type of people who hurt animals as children, and then grow up as bullies. Imperialism is all they know.
I have been wondering about something related to this.
As the list of Bush administration outrages grows and grows, it must get harder and harder for his remaining adherents to admit to themselves that they could have been so deluded. Thus, ironically, I suspect that the very magnitude of Bush’s crimes makes it ever more difficult for his remaining adherents to face the truth.
Where is the floor beyond which his approval rating cannot fall for any length of time? 30%? 28%? I doubt that it can even fall as low as 25%. After all, with Nixon, people did not have the same emotional involvement in any supposed ideology or belief system. Unfortunately for our country, I fear that the remaining Bush adherents simply cannot stand the hit to their sense of self identity that would now be necessary were they to face reality.
Bush supporter:
Drug, Oil, Defence, international corportations, chamber of commerence, loony religious right, union haters, and watchers of the fox follies. Just a start but these are the “die hard” supporters because most of these people have money invested in Bush and have had a pretty good return on their investment up to date.
Those “Regular People” that are still on board come under heading of the three “g’s”, (god, gun, and gays) and the ones that I detest the most, those that are willing to send some other persons son or daughter to die in Iraq but not them or their childern. Most are known as “Chickenhawks, yellow elephants and Cowards” This group is Bush’s true base because they all have so much in common.
Three “g’s”? Gays support Bush? WTF are you talking about? Gay haters perhaps.
As for the 28%, I work in an office full of them. Bush’s base is still strong in squeaky clean surburbanite AmeriKKKa.
If Palosie will not impeach bush then recall her and find some one with a back bone who will.
Were Hitler’s “poll numbers” in 1945, if such had been tallied, actually below where G-III is now?
Maybe there is a floor beneath whcih you don’t drop? Then again, Yeltsin was supposedly in single digits at one point.
I’d bet Adolf never got that low, if the numbers had ever been counted, as then like now, there were a lot more true believers running about than Yeltsin ever had.
Some small percent are the ultra-wealthy, those very few who have benefitted — albeit in the short-term — from Bush’s reign, then add in another 2%%-ish of zealots whose politics and religion have merged into a single belief system. Questioning Bush, to them, would be the equivalent of questioning Jesus.
As a poster mentioned above, Bush won’t drop below 25% — but disapproval *can* eventually consume all of the remaining 75 percent. You know, the whackos. The only question is whether the clock will run out on Bush before impeachment becomes a mandate.
