Bush Redefines “Success” in Iraq

I had to do a double-take when I heard reports that George Bush had rolled out a new definition of success in Iraq, in a speech this morning before the Associated General Contractors of America:
Success is not, no violence. There are parts of our own country that have got a certain level of violence to it. But success is a level of violence where the people feel comfortable about living their daily lives. And that’s what we’re trying to achieve.
So, that’s what the regime is now trying to achive in Iraq? A “level of violence where…people feel comfortable”? I really need to find a YouTube video of this speech, because I don’t think that the above words (from the White House website transcript) are exactly what Mr. Bush actually said.
Either way - is this what our soldiers are dying every day for? Establishing an acceptable level of violence in Iraq? And what, exactly, is an acceptable level of violence? 10 headless bodies pulled out of the river? 5 car bombings? 2.3 American deaths? I want metrics, dammit.
The goal posts of success failure have been moved again.

Incredible! And the hits keep on comming! Now President Bush says success in Iraq is not an end to the violence, but just a lowering it to an “acceptable level”! Is he kidding !? Just how low can Bush’s standard for victory go?
As low as the liberal media allows Kelvin which has been in the shitter since 2000. I’m tired of sucking on the hind teat.
I think we have all lived in the Bush twilight zone for so long, our sense of reality is completely distorted. These kind of statements from W are so common, that we all just take it with a grain of salt. Please, someone hold these criminals accountable. Or have we all gone crazy? I’m sure glad my daughter is not over in Iraq, trying to achieve a level of violence where people feel comfortable. When will the madness stop!!!!!
How do you spell relief? I-M-P-E-A-C-H ! ! !
Here’s a link to an NPR report “White House, Congress Negotiate Over Iraq Bill” with the abominable abovementioned quote. Reference to the quote starts at the fourth paragraph. Click on the “listen” button below the headline to hear the audio, which includes the voice of our beloved fuhrer dispensing this pearl of wisdom. Love that sentence about “parts of our country” Which parts? And what the hell does “certain level of violence” mean? Nothing… that’s what it means. And “people feel comfortable about living their daily lives” when they sense that they can step outside without a great risk of being blown up by a suicide bomber, or being abducted and beheaded. This is a comfort level that I predict won’t be felt anytime soon by people walking the streets of Baghdad.
Whoops. I got so upset, I forgot the link. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=9972610
