I’ve got an informant who tells me that McNulty is a good guy. Sure, he’s been a Republican staffer and appointee for many years. But supposedly he’s been the staffer for real conservatives, and not the ideologues who have passed for conservatives these last ten years or so. At least, that’s what my informant tells me. They worked together on a committee 16 years ago or so.
Good riddance? As far as I’m concerned, McNulty needs to show he’s a good guy. He needs testify before I believe my informant. I’m willing to agree with a positive assessment of McNulty at that point. Sure, he’d be ostracizing himself from the Republican Party at that point, but is it really conservative at this point, compared to when he was working 16 years ago? No.
