No Fat Camps in Baghdad??

Attn U.S. Soldiers: tired of IEDs blowing up around every turn in the road? Sniper fire got you down? Just can’t get enough of those 130 degree Baghdad days? Wanna go home? Well, we’ve got a deal for you - just chow down on as many MREs as you can get your hands on, and watch as you quickly outgrow your desert cammos. Then, apply for a “fat camp” back in the good ol’ U.S. of A. - and God willing, you’ll be sent home just like Iraq President Jalal Talabani, who is flying to the U.S. for “several weeks” to shed some unwanted poundage:
Talabani, in his early 70s, left from the Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya in northeastern Iraq for a trip that could take several weeks…
“I don’t have any health problems except my obesity and I will treat it, God willing,” the statement quoted Talabani as saying. “I will go … to the United States of America to undergo general medical checks to reduce my weight.”
There is more than a little irony on display - the country is going up in flames, 7 MORE U.S. SOLDIERS DIED TODAY defending Talabani’s right to carry around some extra backfat, so he’s heading for a spa someplace in America? The President of Iraq is leaving the country for several weeks to work on a goddam diet???????
Bullshit. Bullshit. Bullshit.
Will someone just send this guy a case of frozen Weight Watchers meals? Or…is there possibly something more to this story? Hmmm….

oh yeah, because the usa is the place to go to shed those extra pounds! lordy, if you can’t lose weight in iraq, the situations’s hopeless. but go look at some photos of him, he’s not that fat. there’s probably a couple hundred thousand uhmerikans would like to slim down to his weight. he’s a porker, but he ain’t no lee raymond. hmmm, maybe they can go to camp together.
i have the feeling he’s never going back. i think he’s gonna be a recipient of one of those rare residency visas for iraqis.
He is going to the Mayo Clinic for some weight loss program. I suggest if he tried running down any street in baghdad twice a day and dodging bullets and mines, that might work pretty well too.
