John Edwards: “Congress Without Courage” on Iraq
John Edwards bought 2 minutes of commercial time on MS-NBC following George Bush’s speech tonight. He not only challenged the president, but he laid down the gauntlet for every one of his Democratic Party challengers who hold a senate or house congressional seat: end this thing, now.
No timeline, no funding. No excuses.
That was John Edwards’ basic message tonight. As noted below, his campaign bought 2 minutes of commercial time on MS-NBC following George Bush’s speech tonight, which promised no more than the same old status quo on Iraq.
With the ad, Edwards staked out some rare ground. He not only challenged George Bush, but he laid down the gauntlet for every one of his Democratic Party challengers who hold a senate or house congressional seat: end this thing, now. The setting for the ad was purposefully chosen, no doubt. He looked every bit presidential, and presented a definite contrast to the “official” Democratic response.
Here’s the ad - feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
Now, where are the Obama and Clinton rebuttals?
