End of Blackwater in Iraq?
While lying General Betrayus testifies that a small troop draw down could be imminent, his underlings put out help wanteds for contractors so soldiers can get out of logistics and hit the streets and start killing.
Will Iraq succeed in kicking Blackwater out? Eh, don’t count on it.
CNN reports today that Iraq’s Interior Ministry has revoked Blackwater’s license to work in Iraq for very bad behavior. On the other hand, the Washington Post reports that while lying about progress being made over there, commanders under “Iraq Me Dave Patreus” are asking for more contractors to work in supplies and logistics, because the soldiers doing that are needed for well, soldiering.
A week ago today, Gen. David H. Petraeus started his rounds on Capitol Hill, reporting that security in Iraq was improving to the point that a small number of troops could begin coming home by year’s end.
But 10 days ago, his commanders in Baghdad began advertising for private contractors to work in combat-supply warehouses on U.S. bases throughout Iraq because half the soldiers who had been working in the warehouses were needed for patrols, combat and protection of U.S. forces.
Now I’m pretty sure Chimpy will never let an Iraqi named Brig. Gen. Abdul Kareem Khala tell him what he can and can’t do. For all his talk of Iraq being a sovereign nation, I don’t even think his gang of 27 percenters believe that. And I gotta say I’m praying that Blackwater stays in Iraq because then we won’t have to worry about fighting them over here. I have no doubt that Erik Prince and his minions would gladly serve Bushco in overthrowing our constitution, preventing an election, or staging a faux terrorist attack. I say this because he is a religious crazy, the most dangerous element in our society today, and he’s built up an army of mercenaries loyal to his ideology, not our constitution. And with the New World Order, Bush has to give him work because what good is cronyism otherwise?
Ah well, there’s always Custer Battles - Transforming Risk into Opportunity. Maybe they’ll merge or subcontract.

my thoughts exactly.
The question remains: if the US tells maliki he can’t fire Blackwater, what then?
maliki has already told us he can get other friends, and as I blogged at brendancalling, Maliki’s sure making nice with the Iranians. Not surprising to anyone who’s paid any attention of course, but living in a nation of TV casualties, “paying attention” isn’t something Americans are very good at.
And why wouldn’t they want Blackwater fired, given that Allawi is waiting in the weeds?
Oh, wait.
Nevermind.
