Honor Ron Paul: Put Him on the Dollar Coin!
Ron Paul currency has been sold, and used in an underground economy. Did nobody tell them that is a crime? Or maybe it is central to the beliefs of some of Ron Paul’s supporters that breaking the law is OK.
Well, someone’s already put him on a platinum coin that sells for one thousand dollars. Alas, the people who did so were the National Organization for the Repeal of the Federal Reserve Act, and the coins have been used as tender in an underground economy. So, in a sense, Ron Paul’s face is illegal. From the Washington Post:
The ardent supporters of Rep. Ron Paul, the iconoclastic Texas libertarian whose campaign for the presidency is threatening to upend the battle for the Republican nomination, got word yesterday of a new source of outrage and motivation: reports of a federal raid on a company that was selling thousands of coins marked with the craggy visage of their hero.
Federal agents on Thursday raided the Evansville, Ind., headquarters of the National Organization for the Repeal of the Federal Reserve Act and Internal Revenue Code (Norfed), an organization of “sound money” advocates that for the past decade has been selling a private currency it calls “Liberty Dollars.” The company says it has put into circulation more than $20 million in Liberty Dollars, coins and paper certificates it contends are backed by silver and gold stored in Idaho, are far more reliable than a U.S. dollar and are accepted for use by a nationwide underground economy.
Norfed officials said yesterday that the six-hour raid occurred just as its six employees were mailing out the first batch of 60,000 “Ron Paul Dollars,” copper coins sold for $1 to honor the candidate, who is a longtime advocate of abolishing the Federal Reserve. The group says it has shipped out about 10,000 silver Ron Paul Dollars that sold for $20 and about 3,500 of the copper $1 coins. But it said the agents seized more than 50,000 of the copper coins — more than two tons’ worth — plus smaller amounts of the silver coins and gold and platinum Ron Paul Dollars, which sell for $1,000 and $2,000.
Evidently the Ron Paul end of the internets was abuzz yesterday about this news. How could the Federal Government, after all, enforce the law? I suppose getting this big a bloc of citizens behind one candidate, citizens who don’t mind the law being broken, is a bit startling from one angle. What other laws do Ron Paul supporters disrespect?

IIRC, the 1913 Federal Reserve Act was one of those that was “passed” in the dead of night after the “Big Boys” got through with their meeting at Jekyll Island.
Did they really have to get a couple or so Congresscritters out of bed to enter the chambers and vote it into being?
If so, then maybe somebody oughta ask the Democratic Majority leaders if turnabout is fair play.
This is directly from the US constitution:
“Section 10. No state shall enter into any treaty, alliance, or confederation; grant letters of marque and reprisal; coin money; emit bills of credit; make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts; pass any bill of attainder, ex post facto law, or law impairing the obligation of contracts, or grant any title of nobility.”
Funny seems to say gold and silver are fine…
Your right your site really confirms the method of spin facts “All Spin Zone” Before you post fase information perhaps you should study the issues more. As far as Paul supporters we are law abiding citizens who respect the Law of the Land, We are business owners, fathers, Christians, we are simply tiired of the same old guard and RON is the only one offering peace and freedom. As a voting GOP member for over 20 years the GOP has always supported limited gov yet the current group in office has undermined our entire naiton and we are now more hated then most any other naiton. Just go travel to Europe and get a feel for what others think of us.
Another attempt at a smear campaign. Good Job! You might actually get those who don’t believe in finding FACTS

Uh it is NOT illegal to own precious metals. The government has no right to confiscate gold. What are they nazis?
These were NOT being used as currency. No one claimed they were gov’t issued coins.
(Who’d want to, gov’t coins are worthless anyway!)
Private currency was always allowed in America. What about the banknotes of the nineteenth century and our current Federal Reserve notes? Furthermore, Americans are allowed to use any medium of exchange, except sexual intercourse, as long as it is mutually agreed upon beforehand. Moreover, they not only took the coins which may not be legal, based on a rule that is likely unconstitutional, but they also took completely legal gold, records and computers. That was most definitely not legal. Finally, current U.S. Mint coins are unconstitutional, due to their lack of gold or silver. Ron Paul supporters are not in flagrant violation of the law. The federal government is.
Rom paul is a loon. Spending time to blog on his is a waste.
Commenting is a waste.
I am wasted.
Evidently the folks on here think I, like the government, are unaware of the law. Please note that private currency is illegal in these United States, and thuse this operation is illegal. Oh, it isn’t illegal if the coinage is all used in a particular video arcade or something. It is illegal when the dispensers of the currency claim it is backed by gold. I suppose a conspiracy theories will spring up now that these folks were arrested. Libertarians who ascribe to such theories are showing themselves to be no more intelligent than those who fear black helicopters.
As to Ron Paul, none of this is his fault, but there will be some stain there, unfortunately. He’s capable of losing this race all by himself, after all, and needs no help from various whack jobs around the country.
I don’t understand why it’s legal to own gold but not to spend it. This is just one more
instance of the government stomping on its citizens. The whole thing makes no sense.
consenting adults should be able to share any agreement that hurts no one and involves no
children.
SHAME on the freedom-stealing government.
