Concord Monitor: Mitt Romney “must be stopped”
Has a major newspaper ever used words like “must be stopped” in an editorial advising against a particular political candidate? The editorial board of the Concord (NH) Monitor minced no words today in a scathing smackdown of Mitt Romney.
Wow. Just, wow. From the Concord (NH) Monitor:
If you were building a Republican presidential candidate from a kit, imagine what pieces you might use: an athletic build, ramrod posture, Reaganesque hair, a charismatic speaking style and a crisp dark suit. You’d add a beautiful wife and family, a wildly successful business career and just enough executive government experience. You’d pour in some old GOP bromides - spending cuts and lower taxes - plus some new positions for 2008: anti-immigrant rhetoric and a focus on faith.
Add it all up and you get Mitt Romney, a disquieting figure who sure looks like the next president and most surely must be stopped…
The two paragraphs above are just the introduction to a scathing smackdown. If the editorial board of the Concord Monitor is this hard on Mitt Romney (who should be almost a “favorite son” candidate in NH), it’s hard to imagine how they’ll treat Huckabee and Giuliani.
Pop the popcorn and watch the show…

They are so hard on Romney because he is the only republican candidate runner who can do what Reagan said and unite the conservative coalition (the 3 legged stool of social, economic, and defense conservatives). He is dangerous indeed, but the best candidate running according to many sites including http://canadiansformitt.blogspot.com/
After most of the voters chose GWB, not once , but twice,as it´s soon going to be five years years since you invaded Iraq, for its oil , and because someone had to pay for 9/11.
Because both parties were on terms for the invasion, since all , but one of the prsidential canditates were in favour.and many still are.
Since the US citizens didn´t raise their voices against it,or at the loss of their civil liberties.
Since the Dem majority in both chambers hasn´t changed a iota in either domestic or foreign policy, and hasn´t seriously opposed the slow drift of the country towards a US brand of corporate fascism.
And finally as the war has proved to be a good business, for the military , the contractors , the providers, and the press - all minus the soldiers on the ground..
I can,t see a reason for which not to vote Romney, and if they are coherent , they´ll probably do
