Ralph Nader Running Again
Personal note to Ralph Nader: Yes, sir, I do blame you.
I’m not sure that I quite understand why Ralph Nader has once again decided to run for the presidency. At 73 years of age, he’s been tilting at this particular windmill for a long time. Even John McCain, who would be the oldest president ever inaugurated were he to win in November, is younger.
Listen, I don’t have a problem with a 73 year old person running for office. Hell, I’m closer to 70 than 30 myself. Here’s my problem with Nader. I believe that he is the single most responsible person out of 300 million Americans for the mess in which this country now finds itself embroiled. Every time you think about where this country is at right now, I want you to remember the Floriduh results in the 2000 presidential election:
Bush: 2,912,790
Gore: 2,912,253
Nader: 97,488
To answer Mr. Nader’s supporters (with nearly 8 years in the rear view mirror): Yes, there was a difference. A huge difference. And the upcoming election is far too important for the fate of not only America, but the planet, for one single vote to be wasted on this dilettante.
It’s hard for me to believe that Nader can’t seem to stuff his ego in his back pocket, and make a quiet exit out the side door. He lost his positive legacy on November 7th, 2000. He lost my respect (and that of many others who supported his true life calling of consumer activism).
Personal note to Ralph: yes, sir, I do blame you.

Do you place any responsibility on These People?
Peter - that mob was a bunch of repug insiders - paid shills that represented the criminal cabal that was behind the theft of the 2000 & 2004 elections.
That, in and of itself, is demonstrable, verifiable proof the folks behind this administration knew what they were doing - THEY WERE STEALING ELECTIONS!
In order to pull this off, however, they needed a storyline that would make it all look feasible - something the lying liars in the MSM could focus on instead of the criminality.
Ralph played the role of the perfect tool - did likewise in 2004 - another stolen election. The degree to which Nader knew he was being used DOES NOT MATTER - the results are the same.
There is a HUGE difference between the neocons and the rest of America.
It is entirely conceivable that those 97,000+ voters would not have voted at all and the outcome would have still been criminal…
Don’t blame Nader; blame the system that restricts this great country to two parties of: Yadda-Yadda-Yadda, and Yooddaa, yooddaa, yooddaa.
Get real.
Bullshit, Sierra.
Look at the numbers. Just look at the numbers above. Are you that blind? If just 2% of those votes had gone to Al Gore instead of Nader (and they would have; none would have gone to Bush), the world would be a totally different place today. No matter how much you try to convince yourself otherwise and salve your guilty conscience, you know it.
Longtime readers of this blog know that I have no patience for Nader apologists.
How ignorant can one be? How can one seriously think that Nader is responsible for the theft of the 2000 elections? He didn’t wrongly name innocent voters as felons. He didn’t put LieBold machines for voters to use. He didn’t cause the Supreme Court to decide that there should be no recount. Get real and do your due diligence! The numbers are as faked as the evidence for WMD in Iraq and the 9/11 investigation.
Why FEAR SMEAR?
Obama in landslide…
Right DNC?
gravel kucinich paul nader
more whistle-blowers
How ignorant can one be?
I don’t know, Mr. / Ms. StOOpid. You tell me.
No one said that Nader was responsible for the theft of the 2000 election. He did enable it, though. No Nader, no need to count hanging chads. Simple. And Florida didn’t have electronic voting machines in 2000.
My due diligence was done on 11/8/2000. Sounds like yours is still being worked on.
Ahhhhh. The candidate wars arent’ enough! Now, Nader-Lovers! Hoo, boy. New and improved wankerisms. Buy one, get one free!
Yes, RC. Nader is completely off his rocker, and I cannot believe there is a single person in this country who can claim to believe that he should be our effing president. I also can’t believe that any single media outlet would give him the time of day. Uh…. sorry. That last thought just slipped out.
Again, (god I really tire of setting the record straight here)
Whatever you think of Ralph Nader, he did NOT cost Democrats the 2000 election.
FACTS:
6% of registered democrats VOTED FOR BUSH in 2000
3% of registered democrats VOTED FOR NADER in 2000
6%>3% at least, according to my math
Finally, Gore WON the popular vote, despite the 9% registered democrats who voted for someone else.
SCOTUS stole the election for the Rethugs.
Stop blaming Nader. He may be a horse’s ass, but not because he cost Dems the 2000 election.
Please take the time to remember that in 2000 Gore ran the worst campain…ever. I mean it, the worst.
“No Nader, no need to count hanging chads.”
That’s revelatory. No Gore, no need to count hanging chads, eh, Richie? Hell, why don’t we just not run any candidates! Then there won’t be any “stealing” at all, if of course by “stealing” you mean “democracy.”
The Floriduh problem was less Nader then the 97,488 morons who wanted to send Washington a message.
