Bush Booed
George Bush was roundly booed at the opening game of the Washington Nationals yesterday. Baseball fans know their politics, I guess.
George Bush, the former owner of a baseball team, was roundly booed by the crowd at the opening of the Washington Nationals season and new stadium yesterday. Yeah, all those fans were in awe of the new stadium, were hopeful about their team, as all baseball fans are at the beginning of the year, but they saw Bushie up there throwing out the first pitch and they let out a chorus of boos. Smart folks those baseball fans!
The story and video are at RawStory. Go Phillies!

i saw that spectacle too.
sort of felt sorry for the guy, but only momentarily
you could read his reactions to the crowd, especially in the expressions on his face
he didn’t linger on the mound
I would suspect that Nationals fans know politics better than most MLB fans (being in Washington and all). They’re also probably more tuned into the negative impact that the Bush regime has had on this country.
There’s a reason that just about the only public appearances that Bush will make are on military bases or protected GOP enclaves. The man is radioactive.

I always figured it was because his people didn’t want him to find out how much he really is disliked. He can look at the polls, sure, but I get the sense that his understanding of statistics is somewhere in the bottom-half of the American average - meaning that when he shows a “30% approval” rating in the polls he can shrug it off as “just statistics”. And, given the events he’s allowed to roam free at, you can be sure that he doesn’t see 70% of the groups he’s exposed to showing open contempt for him - so why should he believe the statistics are meaningful when his experiences show him differently?
But if they stick him out in front of the general public and have him confronted by people who are angry - that would run the risk of bursting the bubble that he’s surrounded by. So they make sure he’s only ever in public among either hardcore supporters OR among soldiers who are trained to show respect to commanders - even if they’re only respecting the rank and not the person who holds it. The keeps his bubble intact. I think the man might well end up with a nervous breakdown if he really understood just how disliked he actually is.
Hey,give the simian a break.He’s busy building a “Legacy”.Sheesh,what a maroon.
