Ann Coulter Compares Barack Obama’s Bio to Mein Kampf
Ann Coulter’s usual brand of ugly divisiveness has gone far, far over the line again. Seems a lot of the media isn’t even publishing this column. But I’m hoping it gets huge airplay, because she’s dangerous, and we need the light of day on her every word.
It is not news that Ann Colter would say something outrageous about Barack Obama in order to get us talking. What’s interesting here is that I’ve only seen the comments at the very conservative and right-wing whack job internet publications humanevents.com, townhall.com, worldnetdaily.com and, inexplicably, at yahoo.com. I’m guessing a bunch of editors thought Coulter went over the line on this one, where she compares Barack Obama’s bio “Dreams From My Father” to “Mein Kampf.” In the second paragraph of the column. I kid you not. She finds the book filled with dangerous political notions, I suppose, so much so that Ann Coulter, by implication, thinks Barack Obama is as much a blight on humanity as Adolf Hitler. Here’s the first two offensive paragraphs from Coulter, via yahoo:
If characters from “The Hills” were to emote about race, I imagine it would sound like B. Hussein Obama’s autobiography, “Dreams From My Father.”
Has anybody read this book? Inasmuch as the book reveals Obama to be a flabbergasting lunatic, I gather the answer is no. Obama is about to be our next president: You might want to take a peek. If only people had read “Mein Kampf” …
I will quote no more from Coulter. This is enough, and there’s no reason to read any further. And, no, though I am an Obama supporter, this is not about touting the man. Lots of sane people I know don’t think Obama has what it takes, and they give good and cogent reasons for their opinions. It is simple to say this is far worse than that. This is simply stunning. Any comparison to Hitler. . . this all leaves me a bit without words.
Should media that carries Coulter be boycotted? No. Not one little bit. Indeed, I hope every newspaper in the country picks up this column. Hate is best fought in the light of publicity. Yeah, some of us perhaps hope that Coulter would lose all her readership, but then what would she be reduced to, touring the whackjob right-wing conspiracy theorist circuit, which I suppose means tours of militias hidden in the backwoods of our most backward states? I don’t want this cockroach to go scurrying for cover. EVERY SINGLE PAPER AND TV STATION SHOULD HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS. Yes, even FauxNews.

any time spent on coulter is a total waste! i can’t understand how anybody, no matter how whacko he/she might be himself/herself, can give her any attention.
and likely she’s a millionaire from her off-the-wall drivel.
of all the rightwing pundits, she is the worst, by far.
even oliver north can’t match her.
You’re right… when in a public environment (publications or groups), it’s actually a great thing to let lunatics like this talk, they end up maligning themselves. I hope she does more of this because it will just make the “Conservatives” she claims to represent look worse in the public eye.
A good response to this sort of thing, btw, would be “You know, you’re an excellent representation of Conservatives.” If you say it straight-faced rather than smarmy-like, they’ll be confused because it sounds like a compliment but it’s also an insult in this context. In conversations and debates, I’ve often found humoring madness will generally lead towards someone hanging themselves. While Coulter is highly trained in Framing and Debate manuveurs, she generally fails in the court of public opinion (which includes voters). She’s actually just an “entertainer” as much as Howard Stern.
Who the hell listens to Coulter anymore? Obviously nobody because her books aren’t selling well enough to keep her credit card payments current.
The “Brits”, as the right wingers so lovingly refer to citizens of the United Kingdom, have a slang term for Ms. Colter. It starts with the letter ‘C’, you know, as in “country”.
Who pays attention to Ann? Only the most evil of the right wingers, and to that end, she has no influence except for solidifying a divisiveness that’s already there. She’s bolstering the views of those who are tracked by the JDL and the SPLC.
