Even McCain agrees: ANWR drilling won’t help at all
Flip, flop. Flop, flip. When it comes to “drilling our way out of the oil crisis” by raping and pillaging the Arctic National Wildlife Preserve (ANWR), John McCain has been like a trout out of water.
I think that it is important to catch politicians when they are so full of crap their eyes turn brown. What follows is John McCain agreeing entirely with my posting ‘10 Answers on why Drilling in ANWR won’t save us‘ on the energy controversy. At this time I’d like to thank Mr. McCain for helping support my argument…
John McCain’s 2007 Stance on Drilling in ANWR:
“I believe the amount of energy that could be recovered from that area is not that impactful and I certainly wouldn’t want to see another Exxon Valdez situation.”
- John McCain December 8th 2007
McCain Flopping like a Trout on Offshore Drilling:
“But I also have to tell you, that with those resources which would take years to develop it would only postpone or temporarily relieve our dependency on fossil fuels”
- John McCain May 29 2008.
“Providing additional incentives for states to permit exploration off their coast would be very helpful in the short term in resolving our energy crisis.”
- John McCain June 16 2007
And here of course are is McCain saying the same thing: Drilling off our coasts will have no real impact beyond the psychological effect it will have on Americans.
McCain - Off shore drilling provides only psychological benefit:
“…I don’t see an immediate relief. But I do see that exploitation of existing reserves that may exist and in the view of many experts that do exist off our coast is also a way that we need to provide relief. Even though it may take some years the fact that we are exploiting those reserves will have a psychological impact that I think is beneficial.”
- John McCain June 24th, 2008
