McCain Marries Gay Man in Virginia
McCain evidently dressed up as a woman in order to fool the courthouse employees. My guess is that this will not effect the Presidential elections. Justin McCain, however, has had his marriage to Antonio Blount voided.
Evidently Justin McCain and his paramour had to con the officials at the courthouse, and then they got married. McCain pronounced his name “Justine” and was dressed in drag in order to fool courthouse employees. From the Guardian:
An enterprising Virginia gay couple, briefly succeeding in circumventing the state’s same-sex marriage ban, won’t be charged with a crime for posing as a heterosexual pair, officials said.
Justin McCain, 18, and Antonio Blount, 31, received a marriage licence in March at a court in Newport News, Virginia. McCain, who court employees said appeared to be a woman, filled out the section of the application for the “bride”.
“They swore an oath when they made the application, but ‘bride’ and ‘groom’ are not defined in the law of Virginia,” Jack Fitzpatrick, a Newport News official, told the Washington Post.
McCain pronounced his first name as “Justine”. The two were married later by a Norfolk, Virginia official.
They are not charging the couple with a crime. No word on whether Mr. McCain, who has tried to change his name to Penelopsky Aaryonna Goldberry, is related to John McCain, the Presidential candidate.
