Whack Jobs On Parade! Republicans Say the Stupidest Things

This begins a new column for Allspinzone that will repeat weekly, a rundown of some of the most stupid whack jobs out there, the craziest of the wing dings. This week we have a columnist who doesn’t understand the word racism, and another who thinks Sarah Palin is the victim of discrimination among our honorees.

Commentary By: Steven Reynolds

It isn’t just the Republican leadership that’s stupid. It isn’t just Sarah Palin and John McCain and Mitch McConnell and James Dobson who carry the stupidity torch for the Republican Party. It’s average folk, too. And columnists. Man, the stupidity out there is stunning.

First on the list is maillouz, an anonymous writer on RedState, who has an odd opinion of racism. Mailloux is trying to make the argument that the Associated Press is defining all criticism of Obama as racism. The intent here is to create a precedent where any real incident can be whined about and argued by the right wing. You see, they are caught because they know so many of their followers are in fact racist. Mailloux, at least, has trouble with the definition. Here’s the example mailloux reacts to:

“I believe our nation is ruined and has been for several decades and the election of Obama is merely the culmination of the change . . . If you had real change it would involve all the members of (Obama’s) church being deported.”

And here’s the whine about how that isn’t racism. . .

Then, there’s Grant Griffin’s statement. It, in my opinion, does not contain any racism. He believes, as many do, that the nation’s decline (he probably meant moral decline) directly led to the election of Obama. Grant Griffin further believes, as do many, that Obama’s former church is anti-American. Often times, patriotic Americans invite America-haters to either “love it or leave it,” which is exactly what Grant Griffin did. That’s not racist.

The only real change, according to Griffin, is to have the complainers at Obama’s church all be deported. Of course, it is a coincidence to Mailloux that all of them are black. Nope, not a whiff of racism there. And, yes, Republicans are stupid.

Here’s Chuck Norris, from an interview by whack job magazine NewsMax:

Norris: “My biggest worry is that Obama says he’s going to tax the upper 5 percent by raising their taxes by 20 percent. But among that 5 percent are the corporations that are hiring middle-class Americans.

“If Obama raises my company’s taxes by 20 percent how am I going to be able to survive as a company? Well, if I’ve got 30 employees that means I’m going to have to lay off 10 employees so I can be able to keep up with the health and benefits and pension plans for my other 20 employees. In that situation, corporations are going to have to lay off a certain percentage of their employees.

Anyone who has read NewsMax knows that they don’t place a strong value on fact checking, but this is ridiculous. Where did Chuck get the 20% tax increase figure from? Is he losing muscle tone on his ass cheecks, and random numbers keep flying out? Where’d Chuck get any se3nse that Obama is increasing taxes on businesses? It’s fiction! Or senility.

Then there’s the American Thinker, a right wing whack job magazine that Rodin should sue were he alive. You can go anywhere on American Thinker and find whack jobs. They cover the conspiracies, black helicopters, the tripartite commission, the whole range. So finding one article to focus on is tough, but I’ve got Bob Weir. No, not THAT Bob Weir, founder of the Grateful Dead — he gives too much money to Democrats to be this special kind of whack job. No, this Bob Weir once wrote a column purporting to represent the thoughts of Terri Schiavo silently screaming to her parents. Man, serious whack job. In yesterday’s column Weir explains why Sarah Palin did not win the Vice Presidency — simple prejudice because she is Pro-Life. Here’s something of his reasoning, if it can be called that, from American Thinker:

The continuous assault on Sarah Palin is not so difficult to understand. In fact, it can be summed up thusly: she’s a woman opposed to abortion. You see, when a man says he’s opposed to abortion, women who disagree can accuse him of trying to control a woman’s body and/or simply not understanding how a woman feels about dealing with pregnancy, career achievement and defeating the “good ole boy” network. But, how are they going to justify that to a Sarah Palin, who has raised a family, been elected to the highest office in her state and has gained a reputation as a corruption fighter? And a woman decided to keep, raise, and love a Down syndrome child, her son Trig.

Bob Weir is the kind of Por-Life whack job who thinks that there is an “abortion movement,” that there are people in that movement trying to talk women into aborting fetuses. He’s the kind of nutcase that thinks this “abortion movement” protests at christenings and firebombs Babys-R-Us. Of course, he has as much evidence for his notion that Sarah Palin was attacked only because she is Pro-Life as he does that there is such an “abortion movement.” He is today’s Whack Job of the Week!
