GOP Whack Jobs Waste Money for Palin
This is a hoot, an ad campaign to start boosting Sarah Palin’s image. Yes, you read that right. A right wing ding PAC has put together the ads, and they’re running in Alaska. One of the ads is tied to Thanksgiving, evidently to try to counter Palin’s disastrous bird killing video of the other day. We’re talking a PR Bridge to Nowhere here.
Good God what are they thinking? One of those GOP PACS, the Our Country Deserves Better PAC, is running an Ad saying “thank you” to Sarah Palin. They’ve booked $50,000 worth of Ad buys in Alaska, and they’re aiming at the rest of the country as well, so they say. These folks are extremist right wingers, sponsoring a “Stp Obama Now” bus tour during the Presidential election campaign, and now they’re simply wasting money trying to burnish Sarah Palin’s image. It’s a rotten idea, a waste of money supporting Palin who will win again as Governor, at least in the likely scenario, and would be better off slowly rebuilding her reputation rather than starting a campaign for 2012 now. Sal Russo had this to say about the ads, from CNN:
“Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner,” chief strategist Sal Russo said in a statement. “I worked with President Ronald Reagan since his first days in the California Governor’s Office, and I can tell you that I see so many similarities between President Reagan and Governor Palin.”
Oh, we sure can’t doubt this is the beginning of the 2012 campaign, the first ad buy to manuever the Republicans to the right so as to nominate Sarah Palin. This is the biggest gift the Democrats could get for Thanksgiving, and we will give thanks for every dollar spent to boost Sarah Palin. I suspect the folks who run this PAC could be considered the Whack Jobs of the Day!

“… I can tell you that I see so many similarities between President Reagan and Governor Palin.”
So do I. They’re both boobs who regurgitated talking points engagingly, and were utterly at sea otherwise.
Every dollar these rubes collect to do something like this is one less dollar being used for something truly awful. So I wholeheartedly support right-wing nutjobs collecting money for useless causes.
The only thing about Palin that worries me is that I seem to recall stories of Democrats in ‘80 being happy that the GOP was running Reagan for many of the same reasons that Palin would be an awful choice. So I’m not so sanguine about Palin’s chances at being the top dawg in years - it mostly depends on Obama turning things around so that his re-election is assured. If things are worse in four years than they are now, just about anyone from the opposition party might be able to win the election.
That’s because you’re a fucking moron.
