GOP Demotes Sonia Sotomayor
The RNC is celebrating all the great Hispanic Americans in our country’s history. They’ve got very short memories to “forget” Sonia Sotomayor, merely the only Hispanic Supreme Court Justice ever. She’s not in the video, because to Republicans, Democrats don’t count as citizens, evidently.
In their celebration video for National Hispanic Heritage Month, the RNC has recounted the stories of famous and high achieving Hispanic Americans. They left out arguably the highest achieving Hispanic American, Sonia Sotomayor. Indeed, they only celebrate Hispanic Americans who are Republicans. Petty, to ignore a Supreme Court Justice merely because she was nominated by a Democrat, but “petty” is a word that is being branded to the Republican Party, so this is no surprise. With the dwindling numbers of Hispanic Americans identifying as Republicans, it seems that video will be shorter next year. And shorter still the year after that.
Seriously? How many teachers taught about Condi Rice or Colin Powell during black history month? What about Steele, was he studied along side BO at those NJ schools. Look, lets not be hypocrites. Ferraro was a big step for women but Palin a disgrace? The left gives pass to Polanski while destroying a repub who cheated on his wife. Imus was demonized while Letterman is esteemed? So, “progressives” get over yourselves. Take your self-rightous indignation and do a gut check. Put the race card back in the deck and pull out some new arguments. Not attacks, those dont work, but arguments…. that is if you have any?

Hypocrites? Seriously? Would you like to discuss how the ‘law and order’ Republicans stood by while Bush violated federal law? Or how he manipulated the media to destroy the career of a covert CIA agent? Or how he ignore the 1st amendment rights of people showing up his speeches by arresting them if they had the wrong bumper stickers on their cars or wore the wrong t-shirt? I can go on for days, lady. I have a very LONG memory.
And yes, Palin was a disgrace. She was a disgrace by her own standards as a mother. She was a disgrace by Republican standards for leaving Wasilla $20 million in Debt by the time she left. She was a disgrace by anybody’s standards that she couldn’t go twenty months without abusing her power as governor for personal gain. She was a disgrace by the standards set for for being a Christian for being a person who bears false witness - all that talk about her turning down the Bridge to nowhere and that Obama palled around with terrorists were lies.
As far as Polanski, I would think the statute of limitations would have expired by now but even if it didn’t - he deserves a fair trial. Just because a bunch of movie and tv stars can’t see that doesn’t mean everyone left of Ann Coulter believes he should be given a free pass. Just because people like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Michael Savage and Matt Drudge tell you what to think doesn’t mean that Hollywood speaks for me. I made up my own mind about things based on pesky things like FACTS. I realize that facts aren’t en vogue on the right side of the aisle but I really think you should look around at your team and start taking stock. Otherwise we’ll need to blame you personally for the Mark Foley, Larry Craig, David Vitter, Rudy Giuliani affairs as well as George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales, Donald Rumsfeld and all those rampaging contractors they hired. After all, YOU voted for them.
I don’t hear you calling for the expulsion of Blackwater (now known as Xe) for the indiscriminate and deliberate murder of Iraqi civilians. Or the hundreds of pallets of shrink wrapped American currency flown to Iraq and then promptly vanished. I don’t hear you calling for the arrest of Cheney or Bush for authorizing torture and putting American lives in danger. I don’t hear you calling for the arrests of the heads of Haliburton for the rape and kidnapping of one of their employees. Or asking why Bush, Rice and co all ignored the “Bin Ladin Determined to Strike America” brief that led to the 9/11 attacks and Bush’s wiping his ass with the US Constitution.
So, conservative, get over yourself. You lost the election. After a decade and a half of right wing Republican malfeasance, the country doesn’t want you screwing things up anymore. If you had governed better than a blind billy goat then perhaps you’d have a chance. But you didn’t. No amount of tea bagging, miniature protests, wingnut propaganda, whining, crying, temper tantrums and partisan obstructionism is going to change the fact that when you people were in charged you destroyed every thing you touched.
How’s that for some arguments, Mom? Get your own house in order before you start throwing stones isnt’ that how Christians are supposed to work? You and your party are not in any way shape or form without sin. In fact, for about the last decade and a half they almost had the market cornered on it. If there is in fact a god, do not forget that some day you will be standing before him and will have to justify why you put a man like George W. Bush in power and sat idly by while he had people murdered and tortured.
and if you’d like to discuss attacks, I refer you to the lady at the sidebar under ‘Fearless’. She cornered the market on that whole line of discussion and is in fact part of the reason why people like you aren’t making traction. Because everyone else, centrist and leftist alike remember when just a few years ago anyone who objected to a War time President’s policies no matter how moronic or illegal they were was called a traitor by everyone on the right.
Regarding Polanski — he was convicted (actually, pled guilty) to the rape and skipped out before being sentenced. I do not think the statute of limitations applies to fugitives from justice.
It strikes me that his video, since so little effort was expended on it, as compared to so much attention spend on other Repo PR, was actually aimed at the EuroAmerican population.
After they savaged Sotomayor for her Mexican hermitage, how could they realistically expect that demographic to support them in 2010?

Probably every one of them, it it was in their approved ciricullum. Do you have any facts to the contrary?
Ciricullum that allow teaching about the women’s rights movement would certainly contain information about Fararo, as well as Betsy Ross, and even Margaret Thatcher, who won a great naval victory against an tiny South American island.
The point of the article is that the omission was deliberate, and was deliberately insulting. Even Retrograde Texas recognized the heroism of the “Yellow Rose.”
It also seem the Repos mistranslated their English message and even mistransated the spanish for the USA.
That is so beyond sloppy it has to be seen as deliberate.
